Well, I lived into another year. Congratulations to everyone out there, all of you who made this past year possible. We have all progressed into the future! And now, the resolutions. And, the explanation of why they aren't really resolutions, but really just guidelines, so that if we don't uphold them later, we can fall back on the previously stated position and declare that we have not failed, after all. Well. Having said that, I might as well go ahead with the list of things that I feel will help me achieve more this year. I will read more. I'm a news junkie now, between the newspaper and mags and the Internet. I want to make sure to read some things that are good for me, like a couple of fiction novels, and a couple of better-your-performance books, like about sales and management. The main thing is that I want to read these things with the intent of sharing what I learn with other people, like the ones who work for me. Let's sum this one up: I want to improve my mind, keep it sharp, and impart that knowledge to my professional life. I will send out more thank-you cards. Hell, sending one will be a 100% increase. I am going to buy a load of software I've been eying, and I am taking even better care of my finances. I've come a long way in the last couple of years, which I'm proud of, and I want to continue that trend. I have big, big plans for my career this year. But the more I plan for this and that, the more I realize that a lot of the factors are not in my control. So, I will remain alert to the areas of my career that I can control, and be ready for the opportunities. They're coming. Everybody knows it, from my boss to his boss to his boss. We had too good a year for the notice and accolades not to come down, and I will stand ready to use those to my benefit. My wife adores me. I don't want to change that at all. I need to do everything I can to improve that, what ever the cost. I will get my wife a dog this year. Hopefully, not a Shicz Tsu. However you spell it, I hate 'em.
