Unbelieveable. Here I am on Google, typing a document. I didn't even know this existed. I got a clue when I was reading a revue of Window's Vista. The guy said that Vista WordPad, the imbedded program, will not open Microsoft Word files anymore, which he called a blatant attempt to force you to buy Office. Then he suggested checking this out as an alternative. Web 2.0 stuff here. The application is here to use, but not stored on your computer. Get used to it. Until lately, your software was all stored internally. You're going to see more applications unwed from that arrangement, and available as you need them. Need to type letters but don't need a spreadsheet? Here ya go. Want to edit a video? Log into the site, upload and edit, and store it there when you're finished. Way less stuff stored on your computer, and your access to it increases phenominally when you can get to it by cellphone or Blackberry. In fact, this is the year of You. Time Magazine has named You as the Person of the Year. With the rise of blogs (most of them better than this one), YouTube with all its videos of everything important and nothing important, news content...You have taken over the transfer of information. Which brings up things. Like...where does privacy begin, now that people can routinely publish videos of anything in their lives that interests them? If I can view it about you, what makes it private? There's more coming.
